Organic Easy-to-Use Uji Matcha, 30 g
Organic Uji matcha intended for easy use in matcha lattes, baking, and other recipes. Wazuka Town in southern Kyoto is surrounded by mountains and is known for Uji tea; its scenery has earned it the name “Tea Source Village.” The Nakai Tea Farm has grown tea here for more than 350 years across seven generations. Its sixth-generation producer, Michio Nakai, began organic, pesticide-free cultivation in the 1980s.
Tea leaves are not washed between harvesting and processing, and matcha is consumed as the whole leaf, making organic cultivation especially desirable. This organic matcha is slightly more yellow than conventional matcha, reflecting its natural colour without reliance on chemical fertilisers. It blends the first flush harvested in May with autumn matcha to create a convenient ingredient for cooking and sweets. Certified organic under Japan's JAS standards, with inspections covering cultivation, production, and distribution. Organic crops are grown on farms that have not used synthetic fertilisers or pesticides for at least three years; organic processed foods are made with no more than 5% non-organic ingredients and generally without chemically synthesised additives or processing agents.
